How are you approaching discussions? Do you have a game plan in mind? Building a framework for how you talk to others will help you more easily build bridges. Here are a few tips for how to approach discussions about issues with compromise and bipartisanship in mind:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Be informed. The very founding of the United States and <\/span>writing of its Constitution<\/span><\/a> was a <\/span>series of compromises<\/span><\/a>. Keep this principle in mind when thinking about today\u2019s political climate.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Know what a <\/span>classic compromise<\/span><\/a> looks like. It may come as a rude awakening, but compromise not only involves getting less than what we want, it involves getting even less than what we <\/span>think<\/span><\/i> we deserve. <\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Talk to others<\/a>. Fighting division and finding a middle ground is a team sport. It\u2019s worth sharing the work we\u2019re doing to convince others it\u2019s worth it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
